As we move into the festive season, many of us start thinking about gifts, events, food planning… and how we’ll spend the money all that entails in the run-up to Christmas. 

It’s no secret this season can be overwhelming. Not only are we battling darker, colder nights and increased energy bills, but there’s the added pressure of planning the ‘perfect’ Christmas which, for most of us, piles on the financial pressure too.

This year, more than ever, choosing to support local is one of the most impactful things we can do for our community, our economy and our shared future. Here’s why it really matters.

Every pound spent is a vote for the kind of world we want to live in. When we shop with independent Penzance businesses, far more of that money stays right here in our community. It goes to supporting local families, creating jobs and helping to build a thriving, resilient town.  

Instead of lining the pockets of distant billionaires or helping pay for (yet another) luxury yacht, our spending is helping someone take their kids swimming, keep their business going, or put good, nutritional food on the table.
