Thank you to everyone who came to our community event as part of the COP26 Global Day of action.

Hundreds of people lined the Jubilee Pool to watch ‘Out of Sink’ raise awareness of rising sea levels and the need for global leaders to take urgent action on climate crisis. With family workshops from ourselves, awareness stands from Plastic Free Penzance and also a protest march from Newlyn to the pool and then on up to the regional protest in Truro, there was something for everyone at every level.

Watch this brilliant film from Duncan Scobie at Granite Ocean Film to get a feel for the day and why the community approached it in the way it did

What now? COP26 fell woefully short of what is need to avert climate breakdown and its affects on communities across the globe – including ours here in Penzance.

Help us continue to raise awareness by sending the Tides Reach 2050  template letter to local MP Derek Thomas. You can amend it however you wish, we’ve just given a start.
